Ben in Edinburg & Jude in London/Heathrow were outstanding. Easily the most pleasant pick up and drop off rental car experience ever and especially as a foreign tourist & visitor to the UK. Way to go Alamo/Enterprise! You hired great young men to be the 1st & last human interaction your customers encounter when picking up/dropping off their rental.

Never rent from Alamo — it’s a scam. They said there was a poc on the tire (note car had ove 30,000 miles) and that I was responsible to pay for a new tire. Asked if I video taped the tires before I left which is insane. When I signed they said insurance never covers tire damage- even though there was no real tire damage. Stay away from Alamo!

The vehicle was fantastic, (Ford Kuga hybrid) drove well, well appointed, super CLEAN, great gas mileage about 53 average) and a pleasure to drive (about 1200 miles through the highlands). Counter rep Andrew was very thorough and friendly. Car return guy was also very friendly and thorough. Pickup and drop off procedure was easy, if a little distance to walk with luggage from the terminal, but that’s the way it is here with all rental cars.

I throughly enjoy the ease of renting and returning my car rental at the Alamo rental group at the Edinburgh Airport on my recent trip to Scotland. I only wish that I could've arranged for my auto rental outside of a tour guided trip. I love the planning phase of trips, making all the reservations and picking things is what I love to do but I was unable to arrange for a car outside of a group. Bummer.

I picked up the car at Edinburgh Airport after travelling for over 26hours straight from Sydney Australia. Jennifer was excellent, very pleasant and a credit to Alamo. Unfortunately the car I had booked would not load on the system so we had to go for a second choice… that didn’t work either, on to number 3… nope, no good.. car number 4 and success, it was on the system, alas no bay number so no idea where it was. A staff member went looking for it and after around 15minutes it was found. I was given the key and told to move quickly because people were trying to get out of the car park and my car was preventing them from leaving. I drove the car from Edinburgh Airport direct to Glasgow Airport and parked in the Carpark at the Holiday Inn and went for a sleep, my wife and I were exhausted. Around 9pm we drove the car from the Holiday Inn car park to the Alamo car returns, an hour before it was due. Upon returning the car it was examined and was found to be in immaculate order, we were then asked if we had taken photos of the car at pickup which I said no, and explained what had transpired in Edinburgh that morning. The car was then re-examined and suddenly a 1-2cm gouge was found on the offside rear tyre to the delight of Aileish(Sp?) who took great delight in telling me that would cost me an extra £100. I disputed this as we had literally driven the car from Edinburgh to Glasgow with zero issues. We were then informed that the car had a 32 point check before going on hire so we must have damaged it, I asked for a copy of the check to be told it didn’t exist, it’s apparently all done visually. I asked her to check with Edinburgh to be told in no uncertain terms that Edinburgh was closed so “tough luck, you’ll just have to appeal I’m taking the £100 off your card.” As a regular car hirer i have never witnessed such a blatant level of dishonesty. Totally unacceptable, unprofessional and just completely wrong. Totally disgusted by Alamo’s ’service’. I feel for young Jennifer who was the only pleasant exception to the day.
